PHILIPPIANS CONVERSATIONS

SEPTEMBER 28th
  • This week, take 15 minutes to read the whole letter to the Philippians in one sitting.
  • What is just one verse OR theme that stands out to you from Paul's letter as a whole?
  • Invite a couple friends to join you and discuss what you learned together.

OCTOBER 5TH
  • Read Philippians 1:12-26
  • Paul has great confidence in God's ability to use difficulties (chains) to advance the gospel message of Jesus.
  • What are some difficulties you are facing now...and how might God use those circumstances to serve His good purposes ("to advance the gospel")
OCTOBER 12TH
  • Read Philippians 1:27-2:11
  • MEMORIZE Philippian 2:3,4
  • Discuss: In your own thoughts and actions, where do you observe selfish ambition and pride? Why is it difficult to put the needs/interests of others above one's own?
OCTOBER 19TH
  • Read Through Philippians 2:12-30
  • What part does grumbling and complaining have in affecting your “light in the world?”
In 2:20 Paul says [in reference to Timothy] “I have no one else like him who will show genuine concern for your welfare.”
  • What are some observations you can make about that statement?
  • When you read vs. 21, what was the driving force behind Timothy’s actions?
  • What are some practical ways that you can step into alignment with Christ this week?
OCTOBER 26TH
Text: Philippians 3:1-16
Convo Question:
  • Our salvation is not based on who we are or what we have done, but on Jesus and what He did.
  • How should this change the way we approach God and how we live our lives?
NOVEMBER 9TH
READ: Philippians 4:2-9
  • What are some things you worry about often?
  • What role does prayer (presenting your requests to God) play in overcoming anxiety?
