Promise #3: God Loves Me — Fully, Freely, and Forever

Hello VC Families!

This week in VC Kids, we continued our series Five Promises of God You Can Hold On To.

We’ve been helping our kids learn five simple truths about who God is and what He promises:

God saves me.

God stays with me.

God loves me.

God forgives me.

God welcomes me.

This week, we began digging deeper into Promise #3:

God loves me fully, freely, and forever.

Fully — There are no exclusions to God’s love. He knows everything about us, including our mistakes, and He still loves us.

Freely — We don’t have to earn God’s love. It isn’t something we achieve by being good enough. His love is freely given.

Forever — God’s love doesn’t expire. He loves His children with an everlasting love.

We also talked about an important distinction:

God loving me doesn’t mean God loves everything I do.

Because God loves us, He also corrects and disciplines us. His correction isn’t the absence of His love—it is one of the ways He cares for His children.

This Week’s Memory Verse

Romans 5:8

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

That verse reminds us of the greatest demonstration of God’s love: Jesus Christ gave His life for us while we were still sinners.

Parents, keep practicing the promise and the hand motions with your kids this week:

God loves me—fully, freely, and forever.

We’ll stay with this promise for the next couple of weeks as we help our kids not only know that God loves them, but begin to understand what His love is really like.

Be sure to check out the Memory Verse teaching to help your kids learn Romans 5:8 as well.

Until next time—peace!
